Former Giant Terrell Thomas will sign with the Seattle Seahawks (Schefter, July 28).
Thomas will be reunited with Pete Carroll, who coached him while he was at USC.
Thomas was selected by the Giants in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft (No. 63 overall) and after an injury-marred rookie season, went on to lead the Giants in tackles the next two seasons. Although Thomas was one of Big Blue’s most productive players the past few seasons, he did not participate in either of the team’s Super Bowl victories due to multiple ACL tears and surgeries.

T2 was one of my favorite Giants over the past decade. An intelligent player who was not the greatest cover corner, but a complete one. He was quick to identify pass plays from run plays and was an excellent tackler.
It was kind of odd the Giants didn’t at least give Thomas a camp invite this season after sticking with him through the lean times. If the Seahawks feel he has value, so should the Giants, but perhaps they felt they invested enough inThomas over the years and decided to move on.
Seattle is not the first team to show interest in T2 since he became a free agent back in March. He had workouts with Detroit and New England this spring and met with Carolina and Oakland early on in free agency.
