Some players on the field, some off on first day of camp

Will Beatty is on the field for conditioning test, but Jon Beason is off to the side on the first day of Giants camp. Beason is still working back from a broken bone in his foot. He was able to avoid surgery, though.

David Wilson, who was medically cleared on Monday, is also on the field and participating.

John Jerry, who missed OTAs, is out on the field, but not running. Odell Beckham Jr., who has been hamstrung by a bum hamstring, is running sprints with the team.

Meanwhile, Eli Manning is throwing — but not running — as he works back from ankle surgery.

As expected, the players who had injury issues this past offseason are going to be acclimated slowly back to duty. There is still a possibility some these players get placed on PUP until they can get their sea legs back.

Beason won’t be out on the field for some time, perhaps not for another month, and it remains to be seen how much and how quickly Beatty can get back to normal.
