Giants release QB Josh Freeman, claim OL Rogers Gaines

The Giants released QB Josh Freeman on Friday, leaving them with three QB’s on the roster – Eli Manning, Ryan Nassib, and Curtis Painter.

To replace Freeman’s spot on the roster, the Giants claimed OL Rogers Gaines off waivers from Chicago.

Gaines was signed by the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee State in 2013, and spent the majority of the season on the Bears’ practice squad.

I'm not a Freeman fan, but he is better than Painter. Maybe Nassib is showing some signs of life

So much for all that Josh Freeman might push Eli talk.

@mcfly All words out of Jints camp (That I've read) is that he's been far from impressive. I'll bet the Giants keep him, give him one more year.

But otherwise he appears to be a bust.
