Giants cut QB Painter, Nassib wins backup job

The Giants cut backup quarterback Curtis Painter as they continue to pair down the roster. Painter and last year’s fourth round draft pick Ryan Nassib were involved in a camp battle for the backup quarterback job. Nassib came on late and head coach Tom Coughlin  likes to carry two quarterbacks if possible. Painter spent most of last season as Manning’s backup, but Nassib won the job in preseason.

The Giants need to cut 22 players to get to the 53-man limit by 4 p.m.  Other players cut this morning can be found here

Good move on cutting Painter, I'd keep Nassib too.
