Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to visit Giants

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will fly to New York to meet with the Giants (Orr, March 14). The Jets have also had discussions with Rogers-Cromartie, and he may be in town to meet with both teams (Mehta, March 13).

Rogers-Cromartie had 31 combined tackles and three interceptions for the Broncos in 2013, returning one for a touchdown.

The Broncos previously had an offer out to Rogers-Cromartie, but pulled it after they signed Aqib Talib (Crabtree, March 12).

Explore everything. The Giants need a CB by nook or by crook. Meeting with DRC will not be the worst thing. Signing him to an unreasonable deal might be. Trust that Jerry Reese will be prudent here.

OKI...so now we are talking about a vet corner who will demand big money.  so we all know Reese won't come close to what he's asking for......so he will come and go just like the last 5 or 6 that have stopped by for a visit without a contract. Go to ESPN FA tracker ..click on Corners under Bill Polien and see the remaining free agent Corners left on the market.....ie: none..... Reese snoozed right after Jennings and Beason...he couldve gotten a good, vet grade B corner with a 2-3 year deal...wtf Jerry...who's next...Keith Bullock?

He's a good player & we need a CB, badly. At this point in his career, he is better than Webster was for us the past 2 seasons. If we sign him, either bring back T2 or draft someone like Dennard or Roby, and add it all to the very solid 3 safeties we have, our defense will look pretty damn good. Signing DR-C will start putting things into focus.

The Jets will pay him more bc CB is so critical in their system - but I'd love for the Giants to get him.

@Mike Dell Italia  ....  I wouldn't define DR-C as "elite", and your comment seems to imply he is. He's certainly a solid to good type of CB and has capable ball skills in the secondary. But I never thought he was a "shutdown" CB like the elite CBs have been defined to be. If he was truly a shutdown type CB, Denver wouldn't have released him to pay more money to Aqib Talib. With the CB market currently super inflated, DR-C can probably be picky and choose the highest bidder among all teams still interested in signing a CB. The Giants don't have a whole lot left to spend and still quite a few holes to fill, so I would be somewhat surprised if DR-C signs with the Giants. Would I want him? Sure. But I don't think he'll come here as cheaply as Reese may want him. This, like with Beason, is a classic situation where Reese may be forced into an "overpay" if he truly wants to sign a good veteran CB prior to the draft.

@Brian Webster

Last year should have been his "show me" year, but since he mailed in the whole season, he has to do it all over again.
