“See y’all in Week 8,” Andre Brown just tweeted.
This likely means that Brown will be placed on short-term injured reserve/designated to return list. He won’t be eligible to return until November 10 against the Raiders. The short-term IR stint runs for eight weeks and the Giants have their bye in Week 9.
The Giants have up until Week 2 to place brown on the IR.
This is the latest injury to befall the talented RB. After being taken in the fourth round out of NC State in 2009 (129th overall) by the Giants, Brown has yet to play a full season in the league.
He ruptured an Achilles during his initial training camp as a rookie and missed all of 2009. In 2010, The Giants waived Brown who was then picked up and waived by the Broncos, Colts, Panthers and Redskins in that order.
After being released the next summer by Washington, the Giants brought Brown to camp, but he failed to make the final roster. He spent the entire 2011 season on the practice squad. Last year, Brown made the club, playing in ten games before breaking his leg vs the Packers in late November, ending his season.
