Giants News and Notes for Monday

Some quick housekeeping we may have been remiss on….

From Jenny Vrentas of the Star Ledger: The Giants will promote Lunda Wells to assistant offensive line coach, according to a person with knowledge of the team’s plans. That person requested anonymity because the Giants have not yet announced the move. Wells will fill the spot vacated by Matt Rhule, who left to become Temple’s head coach. With Al Holcomb departing for the Panthers last week, the Giants have openings at both offensive and defensive assistant (similar to quality control jobs).

From Dan Benton of Giants Tight end Bear Pascoe is one of 26 pending free agents for the New York Giants, and likely one of the first whom will have a contract signed prior to the start of NFL free agency in March. The Porterville Recorder reports that Pascoe, who is slated to become a restricted free agent (RFA), will re-sign with the Giants sometime next week. This news comes by way of Sean Pascoe, Bear’s Father, who informed the paper of the pending one-year agreement.

WR Victor Cruz had 10 catches in last night’s Pro Bowl in Hawaii. That is a new record. The previous high was 9 by Minnesota’s Randy Moss in 2000.

A blogger who specializes in the draft says the Giants may be in line for a compensatory pick this April due to the defection of CB Aaron Ross to Jacksonville last season READ
