Earlier today, I played the role of physician in diagnosing the Giants’ recent offensive slump. Partial blame was attributed to the lack of Hakeem Nicks in the passing attack.
Today, Nicks missed practice as his right foot and left knee issues reemerged. Nicks reportedly suffered swelling in the knee following the team’s loss to Pittsburgh, and his status for Sunday in Cincinnati is now a question mark.
This now begs the question if injuries have hindered Nicks, or perhaps he returned too soon and re-injured or worsened the injury.
Also, it was announced safety Kenny Phillips, who proclaimed he was ready to play last week, will not suit for Big Blue until at least after their bye week, which comes next week.
Phillips has been ruled out v Cincy, the sixth game he’ll miss.
