The Giants are still taking inventory from Saturday’s win in Pittsburgh, but tomorrow they will begin focusing on their next opponent, the Indianapolis Colts, who will be here at MetLife for a nationally televised game.
The news today was that former Giant RB Ahmad Bradshaw has been activated from the Colts’ PUP list.
Vick Ballard started the preseason opener, but is not long for the first-team offense. Bradshaw’s foot injuries are chronic and must be managed, but he’s the heavy favorite to lead Indy in 2013 carries. Expect Bradshaw to be used sparingly in the Colts’ final three preseason games.
Bradshaw took a few hand-offs in a walkthrough practice last week, but the Colts classified them as “mental reps.” The league investigated the situation and determined that Bradshaw had practiced, therefore he was no longer eligible for the PUP list. It’s not a major concern, though, as Bradshaw should be ready to participate in some form of real practice in the coming days.
We don’t expect to see Bradshaw getting more than a few snaps, if any, on Sunday. That is, if the Colts want him to last until opening day. Bradshaw is a tough guy and a gamer, but his feet are fragile. Not good for an NFL running back.
