SNYGiants Week 10 NFL Picks

Jim Mancari , Contributor

All four teams that I picked last week covered. I felt bad betting against the Giants, though I expected them to win yet not cover the spread. I guess it worked out though.

Here are this week’s picks. I’ll be using the point spreads from Yahoo! Sports. Feel free to include your picks for these or any other of the week’s games in the comments section. Good luck!

Week 9 Record: 4-0

Overall: 8-4

San Diego Chargers (+3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Chargers are coming off their bye week and desperately need a win. I normally shy away from games where a team is traveling completely across the country, but San Diego is really due. Tampa Bay has played good football lately, but they’ve been one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL over the past few seasons.

Pick: Chargers

New York Jets (+6) at Seattle Seahawks

Despite their struggles, a win would put the Jets right back in the playoff hunt. One problem: the Seahawks just don’t lose at home. Expect that trend to continue this weekend.

Pick: Seahawks

St. Louis Rams (+11) at San Francisco 49ers

The Rams’ defense isn’t terrible this season, and the 49ers’ offense merely manages the game for its defense. It would be tough for the Rams to win in Candlestick Park, but keeping the game somewhat close is a possibility. The Rams may lose by a touchdown, in which case they cover the spread.

Pick: Rams

New York Giants (-4) at Cincinnati Bengals

The home team has won every game between these two teams in their all-time series, so the Bengals historically will win this game. Not so fast. The Giants are looking to avenge themselves after a tough loss to the Steelers, and winning a road game may be exactly what Big Blue needs heading into the bye week with a rough schedule on the horizon. Even so, the last three games between these teams have been decided by a field goal or less, in which case the spread comes into play here. But I’m thinking the Giants post a big win by 10 or more points this Sunday.

Pick: Giants
