Report: RGIII Should Be Ready For the 2013 Season

Here is the latest on Redskins QB Robert Griffin III, who was injured in Washington’s 24-14 playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday.

From Rich Tandler of CSNWashington:

Redskins QB Robert Griffin III will undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair torn anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments in his right knee, according to a report on ESPN.com. The good news in this is that it appears that Griffin will not miss any regular season games as a result of the injury.

Citing a source familiar with the diagnosis of the knee made by Dr. James Andrews, who examined Griffin on Tuesday, Chris Mortensen reported that the recovery time is expected to be 6-8 months, which means that Griffin should be ready for the start of the 2013 season.
