From Monday’s programming….
LoudMouths: Chris Carlin and Eamon McAnaney debate whether the Giants should trade wide receiver Hakeem Nicks before Tuesday’s trade deadline.
Fennelly: I was an advocate of trading Nicks because the Giants are likely to lose him regardless in free agency. But now, figuring they aren’t going to get higher than a third rounder for him, it makes no sense to trade him. First, it would send the wrong message to the team. Sure, Nicks has has his ‘misunderstandings’ with Coughlin and Reese, but there is no reason to jettison him out of here a la Jeremy Shockey. Second, they will get a compensatory pick for him in 2015 should he walk next March.
Daily News Live talks with Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle about the win over the Eagles and the team’s expectations going forward.
Fennelly: Although Tom Coughlin wouldn’t admit it, Will Hill has stepped into the FS spot, pushing Ryan Mundy aside. Don’t get me wrong, Mundy has played well, but Hill is a more physical player and has more upside. Both players have complimented Rolle, and as a result he is having one of best seasons as a pro.
