With Will Hill gone, what is the depth chart at safety for the Giants right now?

John Fennelly, Lead Writer

Although Will Hill was a productive player, he isn’t irreplaceable.

The Giants will start Antrel Rolle as the strong safety, barring anything unforeseen, and he’ll play 95 percent of the snaps back there.

Hill was the free safety and the Giants will let his replacement bubble up organically. Stevie Brown and Quentin Demps will get the first crack at the job, but both figure to play plenty in the Giants’ three-safety set. Cooper Taylor, Thomas Gordon and CJ Barnett are other names you should be aware of this summer. Taylor is an interesting player with a knack for being around the ball and the others were stars at Michigan and Ohio State respectively.

There is a silver lining to the Hill scenario and the Giants seemed to have prepared well for his departure.

The Giants played some three safety packages which where very effective that would be gone,we got worse without Hill.We will have to use three corners which is less effective against the run.
