Victor Cruz thinks Giants will have meeting on Aaron Hernandez

Victor Cruz has been in numerous interviews after the official signing of his contract, including an interview with Mike Francesa on WFAN.

One topic that Cruz commented on is the Aaron Hernandez murder case that has been all over the news. Cruz seems to believe that the issue may be significant enough to warrant a discussion within the Giants organization.

“Knowing us, it might be a full-fledged meeting on security, the things we can do or decision-making. We take that stuff seriously, especially in the inner city area where you never know what could happen,” Cruz said in the interview.

Cruz said that he wishes Hernandez the best, but believes that he made some poor decisions.

The Giants, like many NFL teams, bring in league security and local law enforcement officials to speak to the team regarding the “dos and don’ts” and what is acceptable behavior in today’s society.  With the latest rash of incidents by NFL players this offseason, it’s a given the league will be conducting such sessions during training camp.

The NFL, in a pre-emptive move, re-released their Personal Conduct Policy last month via their website.
