Victor Cruz possibly done for preseason with bruised heel

Victor Cruz left the Giants’ second preseason game with what was announced as bruised left heel.

Cruz may miss the rest of the preseason with the injury. Hakeem Nicks, who made his return to the lineup last night, did not seem too worried about Cruz’ injury:

“He felt fine, actually. I don’t really know the details of the injury, but he said he was fine….I really don’t think it’s that serious. I think they were just playing it safe by holding him out. But I don’t really know too many details about it, so I can’t really comment on it.”

Tom Coughlin always has concern when players are forced to miss time….

“He runs to make his living, he’s obviously got an issue with the heel; hopefully it’s not going to be a long thing, but I really don’t have the information to tell you if there’s an exact medical position on that or whether, in fact, if he does have a sore heel, and they’re going to continue to do some tests on him.”

Caps won again 2-1 over avs. Barry trotz has got them playing solid 2 way hockey.

Anyone look at StubHub to see ticket prices for tomorrow night? Worst seats in the house are ~$250, decent seats are around $500.

Caps are up 1-0 vs avs after 2.

Looking forward to the Isles effort & energy level in this one. There is zero reason to come out flat. I read below about the debate over Strait or Donovan. I'd lean towards Strait he's played decent in his last 2. Whatever happened to Carkner???? IR??? Not to say he should play over anyone just wondering.

I can guarantee the isles win tomorrow. We are playing very good and we are a better team all round. We don't have too much truoble in msg. HOTTER THAN A FIRECRACKER!!!

This is going to be one hell of a game to watch. Cappy brushing it off like it's "business as usual" is a load of bull dooty. The players know this is huge and they are going to hear it from the fans. Hopefully we kick some a$$ tomorrow and show the Rags who's boss.

On an unrelated note, the NHL usually has a fan poll to see which games hockey fans are excited to watch in the upcoming week. Of course, the Islanders Rangers game on Tuesday is nowhere to be found. Just goes to show how much this team is looked down upon by the rest of the league. Guess we'll just have to prove them wrong. Let's go Isles!!!

@puckdad99

Chuck Wang called the Islanders a, "Small market team" - since when do New Yorkers shell out $500 to see the Podunk Puckheads?

And of course the old fraudster said that before multiple buyers lined up to pay a cool half-billion for the team...

But what do you expect from a scoundrel who'd steal from children?

Here's to new ownership, and victory tomorrow night!

@tonelli27

and the Flyers are creaming TB, up 6-1, a little more than half way though.

If TB loses, Islanders have a shot at being #1 in the Conference with a win tomorrow against the Rags.

@dinbigd strait over donovan for sure. Not that its a compliment. and plus he scored a goal last game. He even blew his own mind with that one

Carkner had back surgery, done for the year and most likely as an islander

@dimaio34 I love the confidence, but I see this being a tough game. Rangers are hot right now, but then again, the Islanders broke up Chicago's win streak so hopefully, the Islanders can cool off the Rangers too.

Too bad the outdoor game at Yankee Stadium wasn't now instead of last season.

The Winnipeg Jets are a small market team and they had the second highest average season ticket price last season. So, it's not out of the question for small market teams to have over inflated ticket prices.

@pucks avs just tied it at 1.

@tag1 Seriously. The team has developed so much since then though. Crazy what a difference a year makes.

@tag1 im glad this game isnt an outdoor game tag. I guess there might be 3-4 thousand isles fans at msg and they will be heard like last time.

@tonelli27 There are 32 NFL teams; I like the Seahawks least of all 32. Sadly, if I had to bet my hard earned $ on the SB winner, i'd bet on them!

Lol. He had a role, but in order for a dman to fill that role you have to play a better all around game than he did

 @tag1 amazing what some trades in areas where the team was lacking( goal and D) will do.

@tonelli27 I don't think the fans play as much of a roll outdoors like they do indoors, having said that, I think if outdoor game was tomorrow night the Isles fans would have been well represented.

I believe so tag. He wouldn't back down from anyone. Could take a punch, not the best at giving them..

The more I think about our d corps going forward the more I want to lock up Boychuck. He would allow Pulock and Rienhart more time to develop and take a lot of pressure off them.

@23 he was ok for us in 2013, gave us a little size and grit but obvious last year he was slow and got burnt alot. Still a tough cookie.
