Victor Cruz contemplates holdout as contract talks stall

Victor Cruz might have some extra time this off-season to perfect his salsa technique.

On Friday, the Giants wide receiver would not rule out a possible holdout if contract talks continue to stall.

Earlier in the week, Giants owner John Mara said Cruz’s agents was demanding too much money and “there’s a limit” as to much the franchise will pay.

Cruz earned $540,000 this season. If the two sides don’t agree to a long-term contract by March 12, Cruz will become a restricted free agent and New York can place a $2.879 million first-round tender on their top wideout.

Mara previously said he wouldn’t be opposed to placing the tender on Cruz.
