Stevie Brown tweets that he’s signed for 2014

Stevie Brown has tweeted that he has re-signed with the Giants for the 2014 season.

Update – 4:45 p.m.: Brown’s deal is for one-year and $4 million (Schefter, March 11).

John Fennelly, Lead Writer

Brown will come back and assume his spot in the lineup that was filled by Ryan Mundy last season after Brown tore his ACL in preseason. He will team with Pro Bowler Antrel Rolle, Will Hill and Cooper Taylor to form a solid safety group.

In 2012, Brown had a breakout year, picking off eight passes, the most by a Giant since 1968 when Willie Williams recorded ten and Spider Lockhart eight. Brown’s 307 INT return yards were the fourth-highest in NFL history.

I was hoping to see him get a deal similar to Galloway. He's only 23 and was buried on the OKC bench. I thought getting Lance and moving JR'S contract was a steal. They are going to need role player's after the shopping ( hopefully we get everything on the list) is done in July. A Defensive minded 4 year Duke player is more than likely a good bet at 900k.

Good to see that they're rewarding players for their hard work and quality play.  Lance is kind of an interesting case, as he's still relatively young.  He's shown a better than advertised shooting touch, and anybody who attended Duke for four years is no dummy.  I don't see him as ever being a key player on a good team, but perhaps a valued rotation player?

@Anthony Abruzzo Lance is actually 26, and will turn 27 in April.  Not old, but still a big difference from Langston age wise.
