Schwartz in walking boot for 7-10 days

Geoff Schwartz will be in a walking boot for 7-10 days, after which he will begin a rehab program, the Giants announced.

“After that, he will be evaluated on a week to week basis regarding his ability to return to football activities,” the team said.

It was previously feared that Schwartz could be lost for the season.

“This is just a minor setback,” Schwartz said in a release. “I plan on attacking the rehab program so I can get back on the field as soon as possible with my teammates and help us win games.”

Am I the only one who saw that the Pats traded Logan Mankins to the Bucs for a no-name TE? I guess Jerry Reese didn't see this either because given the state of our OL, Mankins would've been a huge upgrade, even at 80% of his former self. Reese has really swung & missed on his drafts of late (David Wilson, possibly Beckham), and he has not made a noteworthy trade since he was promoted to GM. Keith Rivers? I understand that draft picks are valuable, but sometimes you need to pull the trigger. Are you going to tell me that the Pats - who are known to be enamored with draft picks - wouldn't have taken a 4th or 5th for Mankins? Hell, even if it cost a 3rd rounder it would've been worth seriously considering. Given the state of the Giants' O-Line, can you tell me that we can land an upgrade better than Mankins in rounds 3-5 of next year's draft? I don't think so. That needs to be the assessment when evaluating such a trade. It may not have even cost a pick because Adrien Robinson has a much higher upside than the TE the Pats landed in the deal. Would you trade Robinson for Mankins? I know TE is an area of need going into week 1, but we can survive without a good TE whereas we cannot survive if Eli is constantly being knocked around & throwing off his back foot. I would've done it in a heartbeat.

the tight end they received is much better than robinson and he has a much higher ceiling....he actually played on the team last year whereas robinson has been a practice squad hero....pats woulda been idiots to take robinson and a pick over wright and a pick
