With the signing of running back Andre Brown yesterday, Victor Cruz is the lone restricted free agent yet to sign his tender with the team.
Earlier this off-season, Cruz was slapped with a first-round tender, which is worth $2.879 million. Last Friday was the final day to solicit offers from other interested teams, but Cruz’s deal sheet was empty.
Still, though, Cruz is unsigned and has yet to report to the Giants’ off-season workout program.
The Giants’ latest offer to the salsa-dancing wide receiver was close to $8 million per season, including $15-18 million in guarantees, sources told the New York Daily News.
Previous reports indicated the Giants offered Cruz a deal closer to $7 million annually. It remains in the No. 2 wideout range, as Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe set the bar for No. 1 wideouts, a signing a deal that amounts to $11 million per year and $26 million in guaranteed money.
