Three of the four NFC East teams will be in action this afternoon (the Giants have a bye). The Cowboys, Redskins and Eagles are all playing poor defense and will need to tighten things up if they have any designs of winning the division.
Dallas is dead last in the league in total defense. Philly (31st) and Washington (29th) are right down there with them. The Giants are 18th in the NFL in overall defense.
At 1pm, Dallas (4-4) will host the 1-6 Minnesota Vikings as the 2-5 Redskins entertain the 4-3 San Diego Chargers at FedFex Field.
At 4, the Eagles (3-5) will be in Oakland to take on QB Terrell Pryor and the 3-4 Raiders.
The Vikings have not won on the road this season and it would be a considerable upset if they leave Dallas with a win. The Cowboys are a 10-pt favorite and should advance to 5-4.
The Redskins are struggling on defense and in many facets are not the same on offense this year. RGIII is clearly not the player he was last season. That knee and the brace are restricting him. Chargers’ QB Philip Rivers is having a pretty good season and should make some headway in DC today. Should be a close one. Skins are favored by one.
The Eagles will start Nick Foles at QB and he will give them a solid chance to win today in Oakland. Don’t count on it. Philly is team with a lot of problems and the Raiders, who are laying a point in this one, are 3-1 at home and should extend that to 4-1 today.
