Tom Crabtree to work out for Giants next week

Veteran TE Tom Crabtree will work out for the Giants next week (NJ.com, June 5).

Crabtree has previously worked with Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo in Green Bay, where McAdoo was the Packers’ tight ends coach.

The 28-year-old has spent time with the Chiefs, Buccaneers, and Packers, where he won a Super Bowl in 2012. Since his start in the league in 2009, Crabtree has 22 career receptions for 323 yards and five touchdowns. As Adrien Robinson, the teams 2012 fourth-round pick, leads the depth chart, Crabtree could be a valuable solution to the Giants uncertain tight end situation.

Also... Isn't there a LEFT TACKLE free agent still on the market that has atleast SOME value???  Incase Beatty is not ready....Also from what I am hearing... Jon Jerry is also kinda hurt right now???? Seems like maybe adding another Left Tackle would be the smart thing to do....

No offense to Tom Crabtree... but I will not be jumping out of my seat if the Giants sign this guy...  I rather give Adrien Robinson the starting job over Crabtree and let him run with it or if he craps out, I would probably give the job to Kellen Davis over Crabtree.  I don't really see Crabtree doing much to say the least.

Couple Points here...

1.  Jermichael Finley has been medically cleared to play football.

2.  Jermichael Finley is the type of player that can be the final piece to finalize a playoff push for the Giants.  Ben McAdoo has coached him in the past and he is the perfect fit.

3.  The Giants can easily sign Finley, they have 7 million dollars in cap space right now.

4.  Why not sign Ed Reed also?  NO DON'T START ED REED, BUT HAVING HIM ON THE TEAM AS A GUY OFF THE BENCH WOULD BE VERY NICE.

Bottom Line... The Giants have $7,000,000 to spend and there are some very valuable players out there that we can easily sign!!!

In a position that can best be described as "in flux"  I guess bringing in as many options as possible can't hurt.

@Tamás Asbóth @urda83 Yeah I am aware of Charlie Brown... just think it would still be wise to add one more.  The Giants have had really bad luck with offensive linemen getting hurt the past couple years.  I am not sold on Chris Snee, Will Beatty, or Jon Jerry lasting the entire season, however I certainly hope they do!!!!
