In case you missed it…

SNYGiants insider Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News talks to GEICO SportsNite about the status of Eli Manning’s surgically repaired ankle at the Giants’ OTAs.

The latest from Giants’ camp…

Three players – OT Will Beatty (leg), WR Mario Manningham (knee), OL Eric Herman (hip) and OL John Jerry (knee) are not expected to participate in the remaining OTAs and in next month’s minicamp.

RB David Wilson (neck) was out on the field and showed no effects from his surgery, but has yet to be cleared. He will undergo an MRI next week and the team is hopeful he will get the green light then.

S Will Hill’s situation is still pending. The team is awaiting the league’s decision on whether Hill will be suspended for failing a drug test this past offseason.

QB Ryan Nassib is currently serving as Eli’s primary backup. Tom Coughlin had a tempered response when asked on what he’s seen from Nassib this spring:

“He’s worked hard. He’s worked very hard. He studied hard and he can direct traffic out here. We just need to get the execution where we need it to be.”

Yes, the execution has been a concern.  From Pat Traina of Bleacher Report:

“Nassib took the bulk of the snaps after Manning. However, I didn’t think Nassib threw the ball particularly well today…Nassib’s problem seems to be a lack of touch. He was whipping balls to receivers on short passes, and the longer passes he attempted were off-target.”

The Giants waived/injured backup OL Stephen Goodin (foot) and added WR Corey Washington, who was awarded to them off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals. Washington, a UDFA from Newberry College, Washington was signed by Arizona on May 13 and waived yesterday. In two seasons at Newberry, Washington caught 95 passes for 1,615 yards (17.0-yard avg.) and 22 touchdowns. The North Charleston, S.C. native also played two seasons at Georgia Military College.
