News involving two of the premier wideouts for Sunday’s game in Atlanta emerged in the last few hours.
Hakeem Nicks, who has battled through knee and foot injuries all season long, will be put on a one-practice-per-week routine.
Nicks, who underwent off-season surgery on his foot then sprained his MCL in Week 2 against the Bucs, has combined for 262 yards and two touchdowns in the past four games.
Nicks will suit up and start for Sunday’s game in Atlanta. But as the playoffs near, however, head coach Tom Coughlin is opting to eyre on the side of caution.
“We’re probably going to have to slow down a little bit, not do much, with him,” Coughlin said. “Maybe bring him in a little bit as we move along.”
Falcons wide receiver Roddy White missed Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury and sought an MRI.
Nonetheless, White, who has never missed a game in his eight-year career, is expected to return to practice Thursday. It’s safe to assume he’ll suit as the Falcons have a chance to clinch a playoff berth with a win.
