Big Blue is back in action beginning Monday, April 15, the first day of the team’s off-season workout program in 2013.
Organized team activities (OTAs) will begin on May 22 through May 23, as well as May 29-31 and June 3-7. Mandatory minicamp will be held June 11-13.
In these OTAs, the team will undergo training, teaching and conditioning drills. OTAs are conducted in three phases:
Phase 1: The first two weeks of the program consist of strength and conditioning activities, as well physical rehabilitation.
Phase 2: The next three weeks of the program include on-field workouts, though live contact and offense-vs-defense drills are not permitted.
Phase 3: The final four weeks of the program is when teams can conduct organized team practice, though they are limited to 10 total days. No live contact is allowed, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills are permissable.
Clubs may hold a mandatory minicamp for veterans or rookies. Rookie minicamps are considered a component of the player development program and can last up to seven weeks.
