Giants could be interested in 49ers holdout

The Giants could be one of many teams interested in San Francisco 49ers guard — and training camp holdout — Alex Boone (Williamson, August 11).

Boone has held out all offseason, and is looking for a new contract worth more than his current deal, which he signed as a backup.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of the known teams that have inquired.

The 49ers will do their best to hold on to Boone, but will not negotiate until Boone arrives to camp.

The Giants are already paying one of their Guards a hefty contract. Does it make sense to trade for another team's Guard only to pay him a hefty sum too when our LT situation has yet to be determined?

@spider43 They have no answer at LG, so yeah, makes sense.  He has to be better than the rag tag bunch Reese put together.  I have no faith this offense will be productive.

@spider43 perhaps the Giants can trade a contract for a contract and still look for a LT solution.

As long as they are improving the OL, I am all for it
