Game recap: Giants 35 — Jets 24

Result: Boring first half; high-scoring second half as backup Ryan Nassib throws three touchdown passes to lead Giants.

Need to Know:  Eli Manning played the first half. After a rough start (5-for-11, 50 yards), he was 7 of 10 for 89 yards on the Giants’ last first-half possession, finishing with a 15-yard TD pass to Reuben Randle. . .Nassib was 8-for-12 for 103 yards. Running back Andre Williams, whose comments about the Giants being the “real” New York team, caused a mild stir, scored on a 1-yard run and had 11 carries for 49 yards. . .Giants left guard Geoff Schwartz dislocated a toe late in the second quarter and was carted off the field. When asked if the injury was serious, Tom Coughlin said “Serious? Hard to play with a toe not functioning.” . . Wide receiver Marcus Harris (sprained AC joint in shoulder) left the game and reportedly will be out 3-4 weeks. Cornerback Zack Bowman (bruised triceps) and defensive tackle Marcus Kuhn (leg) also left and did not return. . . .The Giants went to their second team sooner than the Jets, who had many of their starters in midway through the third quarter. . The Giants allowed 393 yards of total offense. . . The seven TDs were most scored by Jets, Giants combined in their 46 preseason games dating to 1969.

Game Ball: DE Damontre Moore had two sacks, four tackles, and a fumble recovery to set up the Giants’ first second-half TD.
