Finley to see Green Bay doctors

Jermichael Finley will undergo testing with the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday (MWJS, May 28).

Finley suffered a spinal contusion in October, and later had vertebrae fusion surgery.

Packers’ GM Ted Thompson won’t rule out a return of tight end Jermichael Finley (MWJS, May 12).

The Packers selected TE Richard Rodgers in the third round of the NFL Draft.

“I don’t necessarily think the two are tied at all,” Thompson said (May 12). “We were just trying to pick a good player.”

Finley played under new Giants Offensive Coordinator Ben McAdoo, who was the tight ends coach for six seasons in Green Bay.

The two things I find curious are these...  If he's still property of the Packers, why would the Giants be talking about Finley? Isn't that tampering?

And the second, if his neck is surgically in an equivalent situation as David Wilson's neck problem  -  and Wilson's career may be in jeopardy or start the year on PUP or IR -  then why chase after a TE with a similar health concern?

I would have liked the idea of Finely being on this team if he's healthy, but that is the 64 thousand dollar question... there are enough injury concerns on this team already (JPP), I don't know if adding another would be a good idea.
