Eli said he could play if season started tomorrow

If the NFL season magically started tomorrow, Eli Manning said he would be ready (Rock, June 9).

Manning said he would have no worries about his surgically repaired ankle, on which he had surgery in April (BBB, April 10).

Eli has fully participated in OTAs and taken almost all the reps with the first team.

So Eli will be ready to go Week 1.

Which means playing him, and him getting hurt in a meaningless Week 17 game is no longer considered to be one of the biggest boneheaded moves that Jerry Reese has made as GM of the Giants.

Despite Eli and Tom Coughlin actually having final say on who plays and who doesn't.

Which means it's one less log that Skookaloop will have to toss in the "Dump Reese" fire he's been fanning for the past 2 years.

Somehow, I doubt this will stop him.
