David Wilson takes kickoffs

Despite not being cleared for contact on Wednesday, David Wilson took kickoff returns in Thursday’s OTAs.

Wilson was not cleared by doctors, but will visit them again the day the team reports for Training Camp.

Wilson took reps at returning kicks after Trindon Holliday and Quintin Demps (Stapleton, June 5).

Sorry, but none of the names Horford, Jefferson, Conley or Nene command much excitement for max contracts.  Yes, someone will give it to them, but really?  Durant is the only one of the bunch that would get anyone in NY excited and he's not leaving OKC.

And why the heck are you wasting bandwidth on something that might or might not be the case in 2016?  Just sit back and chill and let's see what this season brings.

Phil is an expert compared to us and the NY media. He will do what he is willing and able to do to better this team. Fans of course have opinions but they are just that, "opinions".  The cap space article is ridiculous and it is directed to  emotionally disturbed individuals. The guys who write these stories should be more respectful to their readers.

Really ? We will not get Durant? Oh my God what a disaster !

Headline:  Knicks can't afford max deal contract in 2016, unless they do stuff, then they will have max money

If Phil wants Durant, he will pursue him. We have options to clear the cap space to make a push. Phil will point blank ask Durant if he wants the offer, and if he does, he will cut Calderon. If not Phil stays Pat and signs other pieces.

So basically, no new news here....

Melo is a deterrent not because of the way he recruits, but how he plays the game of basketball.  I think that's pretty clear.

Then how come all these stars (LeBron, Kobe,,Chris Paul) want to play with him? i'm not the biggest Melo fan in the world either, but this bashing of him gets old after awhile.

This is stupid. If the knicks want to make a play for Durant they will trade or waive Calderone. simple.

So much can change between players and salaries before then. This article is BS! Slow season and no real news to report.

you have to wonder how much loyalty p jack has to the knicks. or is it to the lakers? i saw him sitting with his fiancé buss the owner of the lakers during the summer league. he is delegating most of the GM responsibility to mills. he admitted that he never even saw porzingis play and that he relied on the head scout to make the pick. in my opinion this is just a money grab and to get himself in the spotlight before he heads back to LA where his loyalties lie. he is pulling the wool over the eyes of dolan.

@j_spikett you don't have to wonder how much loyalty he has to the knicks if you took even one minute to look into it or think about it. Phil won two championships with New York, and you'd like to brush that off like it means nothing... The dude was incomplete without basketball in his life, and Jim Dolan paying him to come help the Knicks was a good opportunity for him to stay involved and bring some hope and pride to New York

of course they can't and its because of that horrible affable trisection. at 8 million a year this guy is less a ballplayer than ledo or sved which both could of been had at half the salary. he is an aging 30 year old player who shot poorly last year and his skills will continue to wan the next two years. p jack is digging himself a big hole in the decisions he is making. with NO first round pick next year an embarrassment similar to this year would not only be unacceptable but a DISGRACE.

This really is a dumb article. First off, there is a reason that Affalo and Williams signed for 2nd year player options. The cap is going up big time, most to all teams will be under the cap. A good year by both and they will easily opt out and sign a longer term deal somewhere else.

Next is, we have no clue what trades will become available during the season. speculating on cap space now for next year when we really dont' even know the cap yet is dumb!

Fernando Rodriguez

@Lee Lewin you Stole my Thunder. short of Affalo and D Will getting hurt and even then i think they will still opt out. They are Opting out. so we at minimum will have 30 mil in cap space. the problem is going to be that almost every other team will have cap space so Unless Durant really like NY he can go almost anywhere for the Max. I'm thinking more and more we should trade melo after this season if we strike out on Durant. Giving the max to hortford or conley or Al Jeff? none of which i think would come here anyway. what does that get us? mediocre team out in 1st or 2nd rd till melo is 37?? This yr is just about getting to 8th seed so we dont hand Toronto a top 10 Lottery pick. Then either get Durant or trade melo. Trading him wont be easy as it is since we handed him a No Trade Clause for some dum reason. i think only 1 other player contract every had that clause.

He lost all credibility when he listed Nene in there.

I would trade Camelo...if he is hurt for any extensive time or not performing...I just do not want to see a 4-20 performance. I really did not want to resign him personally.

Lee Lewin
Lee Lewin

@Andi how do you go amongst trading him? u do know he has a full no-trade clause right.

Andi
Andi

@Lee Lewin @Andi I'm sure if he was going to a contender, he would waive that no-trade clause.

Lee Lewin
Lee Lewin

@Andi @Lee Lewin maybe so, but that isn't what you said, you would say you would just trade him, which you can't.

Andi
Andi

@Lee Lewin @Andi Okay, I didn't know about the no-trade clause. Again, if he waives it...then you can trade him. And if the timing is right, he has that 15% trade kicker. He gets more money from the new team, which is another incentive for him to waive it.

Do you think Melo would go to Miami around the trade deadline..their window is closing they could be good with him added.

Winslow and Whiteside for Melo....maybe the Knicks could get a first for him too. Would be interesting to make the money work if all parties agreed.

Would Miami do it?

Would the Knicks?

Would Melo agree?

Miami would be scary:

Dragic

Wade

Melo

Bosh

Anderson

Bench:

Chalmers, Deng, Amare, Napier, Green.
