CB Tracy Porter visits Giants

Free agent CB Tracy Porter has visited (or will visit) with the Giants as per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Giant fans should not get too excited. Porter, known for his pick-six off Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl as a member of the New Orleans Saints, is not a highly-rated player as per Pete Damilatis of Pro Football Focus:

Rotoworld had this to say regarding Porter:

Porter has been getting burned in coverage for years, but NFL teams still seem to see potential in him. He’s 27 years old with experience covering the slot and playing outside. He’d enter a camp battle to start with the G-Men.

Such a radical change to the current setup. It would make regular season games a lot more meaningful, and you wouldn't see so many star players taking nights off.

I don't think the owners ever go for this though. Playoff revenues are too important, and the more teams that have a shot to make the playoffs, the better.

As far as corners go i don't know what's more shocking: the huge contract that Vonte Davis got, or the very reasonable contract that Alterron Verner got.

Up until I read this I thought we were heading in the right direction.
