As we predicted, the Giants will not tender FB Henry Hynoski, with the hopes of possibly re-signing him for less. Hynoski’s tender price is a minimum of $1.323 million for 2014 and the Giants would rather gamble on losing him than pay him that amount this season. From Pro Football Talk:
However, that doesn’t necessarily close the book on Hynoski’s time in New York. The Giants would like to re-sign Hynoski, but at a lower rate than an RFA tender, PFT has learned.
The 25-year-old Hynoski suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the Giants’ Sept. 22 loss to Carolina. He has appeared in 30 NFL regular season games with New York, rushing five times for 20 yards and catching 24 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown.
John Fennelly, Lead WriterA no-brainer in my book. John Conner is already under contract this season. Who carries two FBs anymore in this league? The Giants are better off with Conner. He is a better blocker and ball handler, plus he is healthier with a smaller cap number ($730k).
