On Tuesday, Antrel Rolle addressed the media about his sprained ankle while wearing a walking boot.
On Wednesday, Rolle appeared at camp sans boot.
“Boots are for wimps,” Rolle said. “It just feels a million times better than it did initially.”
“I’m just taking it as it goes,” Rolle said of his rehab regimen. “The first day was obviously the worst and I’ve been grinding til about three in the morning, since it’s happened. Just trying to get better. The training staff here, the medical staff, have been doing an exceptional job of just keeping me up to date, keeping the mobility. Strengthening up, ice and stim. Everything they can do, to try to get me to a speedy recovery.”
He won’t rule out playing in a preseason game. Asked if he’d be ready for the season, Rolle did not hesitate.
“That’s not a question. That’s not even a question. Yeah…”
It’s not all bravado from Rolle, however He did admit that he was in pain when he came down on Bear Pascoe’s ankle in Monday’s practice:
“It hurt that much. Like I said, one of my biggest pet peeves for myself is to lay on the ground, especially after being injured, or having something of that nature take place. Like you said, I tried to get up and walk off. I took three steps and I said I couldn’t bear it. For me to tap out like that, you must know it’s something, excruciating pain.”
