Some things that you maywant to know this morning…..
Victor Cruz has backed Mike Sullivan for offensive coordinator per Tom Rock of Newsday:
“I’m rooting for him,” Victor Cruz said of Sullivan Wednesday at a promotional event in Manhattan.
“I just think we need a refresher, more so than people needing a whole big name,” he said. “A refreshing face that we know, one we’re all comfortable with, and we can go from there.”
Giants VP of Player Evaluation, Marc Ross, is being wooed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins for their open GM slots. From SNYGiants insider Ralph Vacchiano:
It’s the second straight year that Ross is a GM candidate; he interviewed with the Panthers, Jets and Bears last offseason. Another Giants executive, Dave Gettleman, actually wound up landing the Carolina job.
For the best and latest breakdown of the Giants’ current salary cap situation, head over to Bleacher Report where our friend Pat Traina has been doing a spectacular job covering the Giants.
It doesn’t look good for Perry Fewell’s chances in Washington. Bengals’ OC Jay Gruden has emerged as a favorite in the Redskins’ head coaching derby as per our man in DC, Rich Tandler:
The Washington Post is reporting that Jay Gruden and the Redskins “have made progress toward a possible agreement” for him to become the team’s next coach.
The article cited two sources. One said that it was “possible” that Gruden would be the Redskins’ new coach but that it wasn’t a done deal. The other said that an agreement was “within reach” but not done.
