New York Giants News and Links for Oct 30

Many either without power here in the NY Metro Area thanks to Hurricane Sandy, a historic storm that has wreaked unprecedented havoc in this part of the country.

The Giants are right in the center of this mess. They have altered their plans as if they were on a Monday night game schedule. Yesterday, Tom Coughlin did not require players to report to TIMEX. Coaches were sent home with laptops to prepare for the Steelers this week. Injuries could not be assessed since no medical exams could be conducted outside the building.

Tuesday is player’s day off, and Wednesday is usually the first day of practice. Storm surge, massive flooding, toppled trees and downed power lines have knocked out power for millions in this area, and it is unclear if TIMEX has been affected. Either way, personnel may not be able to get there due to road and highway closings until later in the week.

For now, another surge is due this morning and citizens are being asked to stay inside. Winds are still high and debris is flying everywhere. The city has effectively shut down until futher notice. No mass transit, no one coming in or out. Here is some Giant stuff to keep you occupied….
