One more day of practice today at Quest as the Giants brace for the arrival of the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning this Sunday.
What you need to know this morning….
MLB Dan Connor (neck) was placed on season-ending IR yesterday after suffering a burner in back-to-back games. His roster spot was filled by Allen Bradford, who was waived by the Seahawks this week. Bradford was drafted two years ago by the Bucs as a RB, the position he played in college at USC. Talk among yourselves….
Tom Coughlin would not commit to RB David Wilson as the starter this week, saying “We have a bunch of guys that can trot out there first, but they’re all going to see action.”
CB Prince Amukamara (concussion) is still uncertain for Sunday. If he practices today, he’ll probably play. but if he cant…“That would be a big blow, a real big blow,” said DC Perry Fewell.
They will need all hands on deck to go blow-for-blow with Denver, who racked up 49 points against the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens in Week 1.
It’s very possible the Giants could simply outscore the Broncos this Sunday. After all, the did score 31 points in Dallas last week despite committing six turnovers. In addition, Denver is still without their top sacker, LB Von Miller, who is serving a league-mandated suspension and CB Champ Bailey (foot) has not practiced this week as expected.
