NFL Week 9: Giants-Steelers Chronology

First half….the Giants came out strong on defense and Justin Tuck led the way with a loss of 9 on a sack. After that Eli Manning went 3rd and out and punted.

The Giants got the ball back and throw a pick to Ike Taylor after being pressured by the Steelers’ defensive line. The Steelers did capitalize on this turnover and scored in the 2nd quarter on a Ben Roethlisberger to Emmanuel Sanders 4 yard touchdown. 7-0 Steelers.

Giants start to drive in the 2nd quarter and score on a Andre Brown 1 yard touchdown. Giants 7, Steelers 7. 

The Giants defense turned it on and forced a controversial fumble. Osi Umenyiora sacked Roethlisberger and forced the fumble and Michael Boley recovcers the ball and brings the pigskin to the end zone. After review of the fumble it looked like Roethlisberger did not have full possession of the ball when in a throwing motion. Giants 14, Steelers 7.

The 2nd quarter ended with a Shaun Suisham 30 yard field goal. Giants 14, Steelers 10.

Second half….. Lawrence Tynes made a 50 yard field goal after missing a 51 yard field goal in their first possession. The Giants came back strong forcing a Ben Roethlisberger interception caught by Corey Webster.

Lawrence Tynes follows the momentum with a 23 yard field goal.The 3rd quarter ends with a winning Giants, 20-10.

In the beginning of the 4th, Ben Roethlisberger throws a 2 yard drag route to Mike Wallace who scores a 51 yard touchdown. Giants 20, Steelers 17.

Struggling Eli Manning does not complete a 3rd down conversion all game and Steve Weatherford punts, once again.

With 3 points needed to tie the game the Steelers run a fake field goal, which is unsuccessful. Giants go 3-and-out.

A streaky Isaac Redman scores a 1 yard touchdown. Steelers 24, Giants 10. The Giants take the kickoff and go 3-and-out, again.

After the Giants use all their timeouts, the Steelers gain a first down and clinch the ball game. Steelers 24, Giants 20.
