Although the scoreboard doesn’t indicate it, the Giants completely dominated the first 27 minutes of the first half vs the Eagles this afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.
K Josh Brown kicked four FGs (from 40, 44, 33 and 46 yards) as the Giants defense thoroughly throttled QB Michael Vick (6/9, 31 yards, 1 INT and 1 yard rushing), forcing him to leave the game with re-injured hamstring.
Rookie QB Matt Barkley relieved Vick right before the half and took the Eagles deep into Giants’ territory on a 10-play drive that ended when Terrell Thomas forced Barkely to fumble. The ball was recovered by Jacquian Williams on the Giants’ 12 yard line.
Eli Manning is 16/25 for 176 yards and passed Phil Simms as the Giants’ all-time leader in passing yards in the process.
Antrel Rolle has an INT and a sack.
Giants 12, Eagles 0 at the half.
