Wilson optimistic after neck surgery

Giants’ RB David Wilson is optimistic that his neck surgery went well on Thursday:

In good spirits, Wilson pays homage to the denizens of NYC

From Ebenezer Samuel of the Daily News:

“It’s all good news for the Giants, even though nothing is assured just yet. Even if the surgery did go well, Wilson will face a few months of rehab before he’s ready to take the field again. Giants GM Jerry Reese ha already made it clear that the team isn’t counting on its 2012 first-round pick, that it’s going to have contingency plans in place.”

Why didn't he get surgery months ago and be that much further along in the process?

i have never heard anything other than the surgery was a success after a sports related operation, only time will tell if wilson is ever able to play again.

the giants must assume the worst and go forward as if he isn't available until he proves otherwise.
