The Giants will be back at it today at Quest for Day Four of their training camp. Should be a nice day weather-wise. The team will be dressed in shells (helmet, shoulder pads and shorts) for the first time. There is no practice tomorrow and Thursday will be the first day in full pads.
“We need that,” said Tom Coughlin when asked if he was anxious for his team to get the pads on. “You get to this point and, quite frankly, they bang on each other more than they’re supposed to and no matter how many times you talk about hands and feet, there are a lot of shoulders. So we need the protection of that, especially as they get more and more aggressive.”
WR Hakeem Nicks (groin) continued to be limited and, after his experience last year dealing with injuries, there is a sense that he (and the team) may be erring on the side of caution this summer.
“I don’t know that. That’s not what he tells me,” said Coughlin. “We just want him out there competing and practicing. The guy has not practiced and he really needs to get out there. We’ll have to see the extent of which we have an issue here. “
