The Giants began their workouts at QDTC this morning in preparation for their upcoming game this Monday vs the Vikings at MetLife.
RB David Wilson (neck) did not practice and is not expected to play for a few weeks at the soonest. Tom Coughlin was asked if he had “a clock in his head” on when Wilson could be back.
“No,” said the coach. ”We just have to allow the time that’s necessary for the complete and total medical analysis and evaluation. I don’t know when that would be. There’s been no magic number told to me. They’re going to look at it continuously.”
CB Terrell Thomas (knee) was the only other Giant that didn’t practice. If you recall, the team is “managing” his knee, giving him the first practice of the week off until further notice.
C David Baas (neck), CB Jayron Hosley (hamstring), RB Brandon Jacobs (hamstring), TE Adrien Robinson (foot), S Cooper Taylor (shoulder), CB Corey Webster (groin) all practiced but were limited.
Jacobs was lauded by Coughlin for his performance vs the Bears last week. Someone suggested Jacobs turned back the clock and looked “fresh.”
“He did,” agreed Coughlin. “He ran hard and he was spirited. He was physical, he gave our team a nice lift, defense, offense, special teams, everybody got involved in that. That’s a good thing. That’s a huge plus. I hope we can keep doing it.”
DT Markus Kuhn (knee, PUP) participated in drills for the first time this season. The Giants have three weeks to activate him. RB Andre Brown continued to practice, but he is not eligible to come off IR until Week 10.
