The Giants are getting closer to their opening game against the Dallas Cowboys and it look as if they will be healthier than originally thought. DE Jason Pierre-Paul and WR Victor Cruz are practicing as if they are going to play.
“He’s done more in practice. He’s gotten a few more snaps,” Tom Coughlin said of JPP.
“The same. He’s working his way back,” said the coach. Tomorrow will be the final workout before the Giants head to Texas and we should know for sure if they will have two of their 2012 Pro Bowlers in uniform this week.
C David Baas (knee) did not practice again and appears to be a scratch this week. FB Henry Hynoski (knee) is working hard, hoping to be active Sunday night, but he may not be ready yet
“He’s doing pretty good,” said Coughlin. “He’s another guy that the training room wanted him to have more activity in practice and we’ve been able to accommodate that.”
Rookie DE Damontre Moore (shoulder) is back practicing again but hasn’t played since Week 1 of the preseason, when he wreaked havoc all over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coughlin was asked if “Damonster” could see time in the DE rotation this week.
“It depends. We’re going to see how he finishes the week out in practice. I know he’s getting stronger every day,” the coach said. “We’ve limited him. He tells me every day that he’s getting better, getting stronger, feels better and, to be honest with you, when given the opportunity, he’s practiced well.”
OL David Diehl (thumb) has been ruled out of Sunday’s game. Expect the same for TE Adrien Robinson (foot).
