Today is the day for the Giants, they can start climbing out of the 0-4 abyss they’ve fallen into or they can simply keep falling towards the point of no return.
On thing we know about the Giants is they are unpredictable. They never play true to their expectations. With their backs to the wall right now, we wonder if they will fight their way out or if they will just surrender.
It’s also possible they have lost all control over their own destiny and have no choice but to get beaten every week. We hope that’s not the case.
But this season was over before it started. No team has ever played in the Super Bowl in their home stadium, so the odds of the Giants getting to the big game were astronomical from the get-go.
Secondly, they’ve lost their first four games and would have to go on a historical winning streak achieved by only team in NFL history (the 1992 Chargers) in order to even make the playoffs.
Lastly, their roster is a mess. They have mishmosh of past-their-prime players combined with reclamation projects and draft failures and have very few hammers that have the chops to play tackle football in the 2013 NFL (sorry to say).
We would love nothing more than for them to prove us – and history – wrong.
