It’s September 11th and that means in this parts it’s a day of reflection, especially for the individuals and families who will be forever affected by the events on that fateful day a dozen years ago.
The Giants will begin practicing today for their upcoming game against the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning this Sunday at MetLife. We’ll have full coverage for you beginning later this morning.
At halftime of this week’s game, former Giants head coach will receive his ring from the Pro Football Hall of Fame in a ceremony that will include all the other living Giants’ HOFers: Frank Gifford, Y.A. Tittle, Sam Huff, Harry Carson and Lawrence Taylor.
Parcells appeared on WFAN with Mike Francesa yesterday and recounted his induction into Canton last month.
“I feel fortunate to be among the very few,” Parcells said. “That’s a special thing. It was a lot of fun, and it was emotional. I’m just very fortunate.”
The Giants signed LB Emmanuel Acho to the practice squad yesterday. From the National Football Post:
The Giants worked out a trio of linebackers, according to a league source.
The Giants worked out former Buffalo Bills first-round linebacker Aaron Maybin, who last played for the Cincinnati Bengals, and also has played for the New York Jets.
The Giants also worked out former Baltimore Ravens third-round linebacker Tavares Gooden, who has also played for the San Francisco 49ers, and former Cleveland Browns sixth-round linebacker Emmanuel Acho.
