“What? Over? Did you say “over”? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! ….And it ain’t over now. ‘Cause when the goin’ gets tough…The tough get goin’! Who’s with me? Let’s go!” - John “Bluto” Blutarsky, Faber College 1962
You can look at the Giants’ season in two ways this morning: It’s over or it’s not. Both scenarios present dim outcomes.
If it’s over after five weeks, that means we’re looking toward next season and heads will be rolling down Paterson Plank Road. If it’s not, that means we’re looking at a long, trying season with the Giants rattling off excuse after excuse after each painful loss.
We see where “analysts” are trying to break down this mess and telling you how they can fix the Giants. Good luck. There are no short term solutions here. Mike Francesa keeps saying the Giants have too much talent to completely fail. He should take another look.
Either way, 2013 is shot, so you may as well begin making other plans for your Sundays this fall. If the Giants aren’t going to try, why should you?
