Winning games have been a difficult task for the Giants this season, but today they won their second straight – a 15-7 defensive struggle over the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Giants (2-6) dominated the play on both sides of the ball, playing smashmouth offense and stingy defense. Josh Brown kicked five FGs, which would prove to be enough against an Eagles team (3-5) that lacked energy appeared out of sync most of the game.
For the second straight week, the Giants did not allow any points on defense. The Eagles scored on special teams in the fourth quarter on a bad snap by Zak DeOssie over the head of punter Steve Weatherford.
Eli Manning completed 25 of 39 passes for 246 yards. RB Peyton Hills ran for 70 yards on 20 carries. WRs Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz each caught seven passes.
The Giants won the time of possession battle, holding the ball for over 38 minutes.
The Giants came into the game with six sacks in the first seven games. They recorded four today.
Terrell Thomas led the club with 10 tackles. Antrel Rolle had and INT and a sack.
