The results of our recent fan poll on the state of the Giants…..
What is your confidence level in Eli Manning?
Somewhat confident 45.73%
Very confident 38.41%
No confidence at all 15.85%
Comment: It probably would be a lot more favorable had Eli been able to complete that pass to Brandon Myers vs Chicago and went on to win the game. But let’s face it, his body language after something goes awry is still bothersome to me. He’s got to stop sulking and start acting more like a leader.
Biggest factor in starting the season 0-6:
Lack of talent 39.16%
Poor execution 32.53%
Bad gameplan/coaching 19.88%
Comment: Injuries are actually playing into the team’s current dearth of talent. But the swings and misses in the early rounds of recent drafts have relegated the Giants to a period of mediocrity as well as strip them of much-needed depth.
Biggest surprise so far this season:
0-6 start 51.5%
No pass rush 23.35%
-16 turnover ratio 19.76%
Offensive line woes 5.39%
Comment: The bottom three have all contributed to the 0-6 start. Fans are not used to the Giants losing six straight, especially to start the season.
The team has tuned Tom Coughlin out…
Comment: There’s been lots of calls for Coughlin to step down or be fired. He is still an effective coach, so that’s not going to happen. The team’s heart is still in the right place, but their minds and bodies have yet to follow. There’s still time for that to happen.
Grade Jerry Reeses’ last four drafts
Comment: It is what it is. He hit big on JPP, but now that JPP is no longer himself, we turn over the rock and find little else there.
